Philadelphia, PA – For the first time in Temple University Ice Hockey Club history, 20 games will be broadcast live and on tape-delay on the club’s YouTube channel and TUICE Network at TempleIceHockey.com.

All 13 home games will be broadcast in addition to seven away games. The broadcast crew will travel to West Chester, Drexel, Villanova, and Penn State Berks before embarking on a three-game road trip when the Temple Owls take on Virginia Tech and Liberty twice.

Although technically a home game, Oct. 11 against Villanova will be played at Hatfield Ice due to date conflicts with The Igloo at Mt. Laurel.

“This is an extremely exciting time to be a Temple Owls hockey fan,” said media director Dylan Coyle. “Not only will fans be able to watch more games than they have ever before from the comfort of their own home, but they gain closer access to the team with new broadcast enhancements.”

Chief among those enhancements will be the addition of a bench broadcaster who will provide insight from ice-level as well as interview players and coaches when applicable during the game and intermissions.

“The broadcasts are great for our team because it not only allows fans to watch even if they cannot attend, but they also allow us to watch our film back and study it so that we can improve as players and as a team,” club president Charles Ghiazza said.

Wawa has signed with the team to become the official broadcast partner of the Owls. Richie’s Deli and Pizza will return as the club’s penalty kill partner. Future sponsorships will be announced in the near-future.

“I’m extremely proud of our media team and what they have accomplished in just under a year. All of the members are volunteers from Temple University, and their work is appreciated by everyone,” said Coyle.

J.J. Michalski, Jay Neemeyer, Mike Zingrone, Taylor Snyder, and Justin Oakes return from last season, while Drew Bishop and Zach Demusz are newcomers.
