Stolie the Goalie is getting back into top-form.
After playing with the Reading Royals in the ECHL for three games, Anthony Stolarz has been reassigned by the Philadelphia Flyers to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He hadn’t played a professional hockey game since last April before playing with Reading.

In three games, the 24-year old recorded .902 save percentage and went 1-1-1. In his first game, the Royals lost 5-4 in overtime to the Fort Wayne Komets, and although he let in two weak goals, it was important to get his feet wet again. We took a look at his first game back.
Against the Brampton Beast in his second game, Stolarz played brilliantly, only allowing one goal on 33 shots. He started in net against the Manchester Monarchs last night and let up three goals on 21 shots in a 4-1 loss.
It’ll be interesting to see how he performs with Lehigh Valley. Obviously, he wasn’t the sharpest in Reading, but no one expected him to be. The Phantoms have been rolling with John Muse and Dustin Tokarski ever since Alex Lyon was called up to the Flyers due to injuries to Brian Elliott and Michael Neuvirth, and it’s worked out well for Lehigh Valley. With a win against Providence on Friday, the Phantoms will clinch a playoff spot.
Expect to see Stolarz start some games for the Phantoms after they clinch.
