We here at Good Night, Good Hockey are very proud to announce that we will be the official online broadcaster of the Temple University Ice Hockey Club starting this season. It is an announcement that was several months in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring D1 ACHA club hockey action from Philadelphia’s own Temple Owls live.
All home games will be broadcasted on the GNGHockey YouTube channel. For the start of the season, we will be running a two-commentator, one-camera system with professional commentary from Dylan Coyle as the play-by-play broadcaster and Drew Bishop, Don Conrad (tentatively), and Jared Giovan (tentatively) as color commentators throughout the season. Returning from last season’s broadcast team will be Emily Kovach as the co-director and social media correspondent for Temple Hockey. Jake Zebley will join the team as a technical director, continuing a position he held at Avon Grove High School with fantastic results.
During the broadcasts, there will be live interviews with players and coaches, guest color commentators for select games, intermission reports, and post and pregame shows. We are a team of people who strive for excellence and can guarantee that Temple Hockey will rise to new levels this year in terms of broadcast and media engagements as well fan outreach.
Besides broadcasts, GNGHockey will serve as a leading news source for all things Temple Hockey with articles and features on the team, players, and school.
We are also proud to announce that GNGHockey will be getting a new podcast in addition to “Off The Dashers”. Dubbed the “Good Night, Good Hockey Show”, it will feature both Dylan Coyle and Drew Bishop as co-hosts. This podcast will serve to not only talk about the Philadelphia Flyers and the AHL, but it will also have a segment on Temple Hockey. The start date for this podcast is September 17 and will be a biweekly podcast.
GNGHockey will be the broadcasters for Temple Hockey for at least four years. We have a goal in mind: by the end of four years, we want to force Temple to make a decision on the future of the Temple Owls Ice Hockey Club. We want Temple to consider making the hockey team an NCAA D1 team as well as consider putting ice in the Liacouras Center. It is a mighty task, but with our plans to up fan and media engagements, we believe we have a good shot. After all, why shouldn’t we reach for high goals?
More information will be released in the coming months on the broadcast schedule. In the meantime, make sure to check out the Temple Owls’ website.
The Temple University Ice Hockey Club is a team that plays in the first division of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), the top-level of collegiate club hockey in the United States. This upcoming season will be their third season in the top division of the ACHA and they will play at the Northeast Skate Zone in Philadelphia, PA. The club gained recent publicity due to Eric Semborski, a former Temple goaltender, suiting up as the emergency backup goalie for both the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks in the 2016-17 NHL season.
