Anthony Peluso is entering his 9th season of professional hockey. At 28, he has split time playing in the NHL and AHL while playing the majority of his career in the AHL. Drafted in the 6th round of the 2007 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues, he played his first professional season in 2009-10 in the AHL, ECHL, and the IHL. He became a regular with the Peoria Rivermen until 2013 when he was claimed off waivers by the Winnipeg Jets. Being called up immediately to the Jets, he played as a 13th forward for the team until being sent down to the Manitoba Moose for the 2016-17 season. Unfortunately, Peluso only was able to play 22 games before being out for the rest of the season due to needing surgery to repair an upper-body injury suffered sometime around New Years’. In his AHL career, he has scored 31 points in 202 games while also recording 382 penalty minutes. In his NHL career, he has scored 14 points in 142 games while also recording 209 penalty minutes.
If needed, he can play on the Caps’ 4th line, but Peluso will most likely be playing with the Hershey Bears when the 2017-18 season begins in October.
