The Temple University Ice Hockey Club released the team’s 2019-20 schedule today, which includes 13 home games, 14 away games, and two neutral tournaments.

The season begins Sep. 14 at home against The College of New Jersey. Two more home games against Cornell and the New Jersey Institute of Technology follow Sep. 20 and 21 before the City 6 tournament wraps up the month at Hatfield Ice Sep. 28-30.

The first road trip of the year takes the Owls to Cornell and Binghamton Oct. 4 and 5 before the in-conference ECHA schedule begins with a four-game homestand against Villanova Oct. 11. Temple will take on West Chester, William Paterson, and Towson Oct. 12, 13, and 18 before traveling to play Towson the following day and William Paterson Oct. 25.

The busiest month of the season ends with a home game against Penn State Berks Oct. 26. Temple plays its final home game of 2019 Nov. 1 against Drexel before traveling to West Chester Nov. 15. The Owls will play in the annual Villanova Showcase tournament at Hatfield Ice Nov. 22 and 23 against George Mason and Rutgers. Away games at New Jersey Institute of Technology and Drexel Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 finish the first semester.

The Owls begin the 2020 half with a home rematch against the team they defeated in a 3-2 overtime thriller last season, Navy, Jan. 17. Road games at Villanova and Navy on Jan. 18 and Jan. 24 precede two home games against West Virginia Jan. 25 and 26. The team will embark on a season-long five-game road trip with stops at Penn State Berks Feb. 1, Virginia Tech Feb. 7, Liberty Feb. 8 and 9, and Lehigh Feb. 14. Temple takes on Lehigh in the final game of the season Feb. 15 before the ECHA Playoffs take place Feb. 21-23.

Temple will play its 8 ECHA opponents 16 times in home-and-away series, with the longest stretch between games against a common conference opponent being 99 days against Villanova (home Oct. 11, away Jan. 18). The shortest stretch is one day between Towson (home Oct. 18, away Oct. 19) and Lehigh (away Feb. 14, away Feb. 15).

Matchups between ECHA opponents in the City 6 do not count towards the ECHA standings.

The top-six teams in the ECHA standings advance to the single-elimination conference playoffs with the top-two getting first round byes. The winner of the ECHA regular season championship will get an automatic bye to the ACHA National Championships in Dallas, TX Mar. 19-29, 2020.
