The Phantoms announced today that they have signed former ECHL All-Star Alex Krushelnyski to an AHL contract. This is the team’s second signing in the month of August after signing ECHL All-Rookie forward Nolan Zajac.

Krushelnyski is a fourth-year forward that stems out of Colorado College. Playing out his entire four years of college with the team, he recorded 101 points in 158 games while also being honored with the alternate captaincy in his senior year. He was picked up by the Utah Grizzlies and scored 57 points in 62 games in his rookie professional year in 2014-15. After making the All-Star Game that year, he followed up with a 60-point, 68-game campaign that gave him a shot in the AHL the next year. With the Binghamton Senators, he scored 7 points in 43 games and also spent some time in the ECHL.

Zajac is entering his second professional season with the Phantoms this coming season after making the ECHL All-Rookie team with 54 points in 61 games last year with the Toledo Walleye. Much like Krushelnyski, Zajac, a defenseman, also played four seasons of college hockey. With the University of Denver, he scored 95 points in 160 games and was the alternate captain in his senior year. He won the NCHC championship in his sophomore year with the school. Last season, he was loaned to the AHL three times in addition to his ECHL campaign and scored 5 points in 11 total games.
