The 2017-18 schedule for the AHL has been released, and the highlight of the season for both the Hershey Bears and Lehigh Valley Phantoms has to be the outdoor game at Hersheypark Stadium on January 20, 2018.

The Bears start their season on the road against the Phantoms on October 7 and their first game at home isn’t until a week later against the new Belleville Bulls on October 14th. Early in the season in October, they will have a 4-game road trip which is tied for the longest of the season for them. The Bears’ longest home stand will also be 4 games at multiple points during the year. They will end their season with 2 games in two days at home against Bridgeport and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on April 14 and 15.

The Phantoms start their season against Hershey at home on October 7 and will go on the road the next night against Hartford. In November, they will have a season-long 6-game road trip that will take them from Bridgeport on November 8 to Springfield on November 24. Immediately following that will be a season-long 6-game home stand. While the Bears finish their season on the 14 and 15 of April, the Phantoms will finish their season with two games against Bridgeport and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on the 13 and 14 of April.
